Nikita usually walks to school with his Dad, Luke, three days a week. “It’s not a silent walk!” laughs Luke, “He’s always asking me questions.” As well as having a chat, Luke likes getting a bit of exercise himself. “It’s a chance to teach him a few road rules – especially since we have to cross Retreat Road,” he adds. They often see some of Nikita’s mates on the way – like Lyra and Lauchie.
Lauchie and Lyra have been walking to school regularly since they moved to Spring Gully recently. “They’re loving the different combinations of trails through the reserve,” says their mum, Mhairi. “And I’m loving that they’re becoming more physically adventurous!”
